Infant (0-1 year of age)
At this stage of our life we grace the world with our presence. Ideally our parents should be there ready to say hello to their new child, as we progress through our first year we're supposed to experience so many things. Years, new information, everything the world should be offering us.
Do you know how many Infants were killed in Gaza in the past 24 hours? (It's not just happening there.)
Toddler (1-3 years of age)
Here, a child is brain is still developing and the child is progressiving towards their preschool years. They're experiencing new emotions and now they're finding the words to express themselves. It's important to start their social, behavioral, intellectual, and emotional development off to the best of your ability.
Do you know how many Toddlers were robbed of their parents in the past 24 hours? (If you find yourself not caring, ask why please.)
Preschool (3-5 years of age)
I don't know about you, but I have tons of memories from this time in my life. I remember nap time, kissing my mother goodbye and feeling nervous about being away from her even though it was just a couple hours. I spent majority of my time in school learning or interacting with the world around me.
Why is it that we're not fighting harder to get these babies the life they deserve? Amputations with no anesthesia, walking around with your hands in the air because you don't want to be shot, making videos begging strangers on the internet for any piece of help...
Imagine 4 year old you getting sent toy food in response to begging to eat. You'd be asking why, you'd be so confused as to why this is happening..
If a 4 year old can't fully understand the current events happening, why are they going through it?
Why are we talking about this less and less?
Why are people getting less interested?
We can NOT let this become another trend of activism. personally refuse.
there are more people dying, every moment you least expect it. We need to get louder people.
These children have experienced a life's worth of trauma, and then some. When will it be enough??
The point isn't to lecture, telling someone they're a problem while offering no solutions is nothing short of insulting.
Well, what can we do?
Keep yourself updated, We will post weekly updates of what to keep in mind on what's going on in Palestine. Of course more events all over the world can and will be covered.
If you are in the United States, start questioning the media and information provided to you by our government. They don't care to stop the current genocides and are currently working on ways to ban us from boycotting.
If you see anything bringing awareness to any of the current events around the world, share it with everyone you know (you can even follow cand continue to support)
Figure out how to involve activism in your everyday life.]
Many people shy away from activism because we are taught to believe that these topics are "Too Heavy" to talk about and bring awareness to. They are "too heavy" because it's most likely happening now, It's continuing to happen because we won't talk about it. Know the cycle and work to deconstruct it. Being loud about what's happening is a great way to start. Stop caring about being annoying, don't care about being "too political", the goal is to disrupt everything until people's lives aren't being constantly threatened.
Keep in mind that incorporating activism in your day to day life can be a lot if not done healthily. It's important to understand that if you're in a place where you can feel tired talking about the very real lives of others (Especially if you can't relate to a single experience), you posess an amount of privledge millions of people don't. Use it to help others, be the voice for people who are constantly silenced.
What is TheCutiePlug doing to help?
We're building a shop where you buying products you love 50% the profit goes towards causes of your choice
We're constantly spreading awareness on all our socials (We do have fun too so don't worry, it's a healthy balance)
We're currently working with the Falala Foundation to help bring basic human needs to the people in Uganda who are currently living in poverty
We're working to make activism more accessable to those who can't participate in the traditional ways. With us soon you'll be helping people all over the world just by watching our lighthearted content. (Doesn't that sound like a dream) and the best part is that we value transparency. We'll show reciepts, messages, anything to prove we're being honest.
There's soo much more....We can't say everything but we want it to be clear how serious we are. Since we're a small team we can only do so much for now but the more we grow, the more we can do. If you're looking to get started with incorporating activism in your life (Healthily) start with us.
Share and follow us everywhere, become a brand ambassador or simply sit back and watch. You're helping either way.
